Launch promotion: official rules
These rules set out the terms of the promotion announced on qcalculatrice.com for contractors: the temporary free project files and the credit draw among the first activated accounts. They supplement the Terms of Sale (contractors), which continue to apply. By creating a contractor account during the promotion, you accept them.
This translation is provided for convenience. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
1. Organizer and purpose
The promotion is organized by 9423-8151 Québec inc., operator of qcalculatrice.com, 5, rue des Chênes, Granby (Québec) J2J 2L8 (the “Organizer”). It has two parts, governed by these rules:
- temporary free project files for the first activated contractor accounts (section 3, the “Free Period”);
- the draw of a prize of 500 credits among those first activated accounts (section 4, the “Draw”).
These rules apply to every contractor account created on the site. In case of a discrepancy between these rules and any advertising (banner, page, email), the rules prevail.
2. Definitions
- “Activated Account”: a contractor account whose licence (RBQ in Quebec; provincial licence or registration elsewhere in Canada) has been verified by the Organizer and whose status has been set to “active”. The activation timestamp, as recorded by the Organizer, determines the account’s rank.
- “Threshold”: 200 Activated Accounts.
- “File”: a homeowner’s request, as defined in the Terms of Sale, whose opening gives access to the client’s contact details.
- “Credit”: the site’s unit of payment. One credit is worth CA$1 before taxes.
- “Site”: qcalculatrice.com, in its French and English versions.
3. Part 1: the temporary free period for files
3.1 Nature. During the Free Period, opening a File debits no credits, whatever the account balance, including a zero balance. The File’s normal cost remains displayed, struck through, for information: it is the price that will apply after the Free Period.
3.2 Duration. The Free Period has been in effect since the site’s official launch on September 17, 2026. It ends on the first of the following events:
- the moment 200 Accounts have been activated, that is, when the Threshold is reached;
- the withdrawal of the Free Period by the Organizer, at its sole discretion and at any time, in particular if the volume of Files opened for free exceeds what it can sustain;
- any end date the Organizer may announce on the Site.
The Organizer may also extend the Free Period beyond the Threshold. Any extension, early withdrawal or end date is announced on the Site, and this page reflects it (box above).
3.3 What the Free Period covers — and does not cover. The Free Period applies only to the debit of credits when a File is opened. It changes nothing else: the maximum number of contractors per File (3) stays the same; buying credits remains possible but optional, and credits bought or granted during the Free Period stay in the account for later; a File opened for free gives no right to a credit refund if reported (Terms of Sale, section 6).
3.4 How to know whether the Free Period is in effect. The Free Period is in effect as long as the Site displays it: on the Pricing page, in the contractor area and on this page. What governs is what the contractor area displays when you click “Open the file”: if it shows a cost in credits, the File is paid. The end of the Free Period is announced on the Site; the Organizer also notifies holders of Activated Accounts by email, but failure to receive an email does not extend the Free Period.
3.5 After the Free Period: Files become paid. As soon as the Free Period ends, each File opened is paid in credits, at the cost displayed on the File before it is opened, in accordance with the Terms of Sale (section 4) and the grid on the Pricing page. This cost is fixed when the File is published:
- as long as the launch discount is displayed, published Files get 50 % off the grid’s current price; Files published after it is withdrawn are at the current price;
- the 75 welcome credits granted when the account is activated stay in the account and go toward the first paid File;
- Files opened during the Free Period remain yours and are never billed retroactively;
- no compensation, in money or in credits, is owed for a File a contractor could have opened for free and did not open before the end of the Free Period.
3.6 One business, one account. The Free Period is offered to the business, not to its representatives: one licence, one account. A duplicate account (same business, same licence, or a business created to get around this rule) may be closed without notice, and the Files it opened for free withdrawn.
4. Part 2: the draw of 500 credits
4.1 Prize. One (1) prize is awarded for all of Canada: 500 credits deposited into the winner’s contractor account, worth CA$500 before taxes, usable to open Files on the Site.
4.2 Eligibility. Businesses that meet all of the following conditions take part in the Draw:
- their account is among the first 200 Activated Accounts, by the rank set in section 2;
- the business is established in Canada and its representative has reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence;
- the account is in good standing on the day of the Draw: not suspended, not closed and not in breach of the Terms of Sale;
- one entry per business (one licence, one account), whatever the number of representatives or accounts it may have created; duplicates are set aside and the first activated account is kept.
Directors, officers, employees and contractors of the Organizer are excluded, as are members of their immediate family and persons living with them.
4.3 No purchase necessary. Creating a contractor account is free. No credit purchase and no File opening is required to take part, and no purchase increases the chances of winning.
4.4 Entry. Every eligible Activated Account is entered automatically: there is nothing to fill out. A business that does not wish to take part says so by email to info@qcalculatrice.com before the date of the Draw; its request has no effect on the Free Period.
4.5 Date, place and method of the Draw. The Draw takes place within 30 days of the first of the following events: the Threshold being reached, or the end of the Free Period (section 3.2). If the Free Period ends before the Threshold, the Draw takes place among the Accounts activated by that date. The winner is selected at random from the eligible entrants, in Granby, Quebec, by a representative of the Organizer. The date of the Draw is published on this page.
4.6 Odds of winning. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entrants: at most one (1) in 200.
4.7 Notice to the winner and claiming the prize. The winner is notified by email, at the account’s address, within five (5) business days of the Draw. To receive the prize, the winner must, within 14 days of that notice being sent:
- correctly answer, without assistance, a mathematical skill-testing question;
- confirm by email that they accept the prize and these rules, on behalf of the business that holds the account.
If there is no reply within that period, if the answer is incorrect, or if the winner turns out to be ineligible, they forfeit the prize and a new draw is held among the other entrants, on the same terms. At most three (3) successive draws are held; if no winner is confirmed after the third, the prize is not awarded.
4.8 Nature of the prize. The credits are deposited into the winner’s account within five (5) business days of the claim. They follow the rules for granted credits in the Terms of Sale (section 4): same value in use as purchased credits, no expiry date, not convertible to cash, not transferable to another account, and non-refundable, including if the service is discontinued (Terms of Sale, section 9). The prize may not be exchanged or substituted at the winner’s request; the Organizer may replace it with a prize of equal or greater value if it cannot be awarded as is.
4.9 Publicity. By accepting the prize, the winner authorizes the Organizer to publish the name of their business and their city on the Site and on its social media accounts to announce the result of the Draw, without further consideration. They may withdraw this authorization in writing without forfeiting the prize.
4.10 Disqualification. The Organizer may disqualify any business that takes part by fraudulent means, creates several accounts or breaches these rules or the Terms of Sale. Its decisions on the application of the rules are final.
5. Amendment, suspension and cancellation
The Organizer reserves the right to amend these rules and to suspend or cancel the promotion, in whole or in part, in particular in case of fraud, technical failure, an event beyond its control or a legal obligation. An amendment never deprives a contractor of a File already opened for free or of a prize already awarded. The version published on this page governs; its last-updated date appears at the top of the page.
6. Personal information
Account information (business name, representative, email, licence, activation timestamp) is used to administer the promotion: rank the accounts, hold the Draw, notify the winner and deposit the prize. It is handled in accordance with our privacy policy and Quebec’s Law 25. It is not disclosed to third parties for the purposes of the promotion, except for the publication provided for in section 4.9.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, 9423-8151 Québec inc. is not liable for an email not received, a technical failure, an incomplete sign-up or any other event that would prevent a business from benefiting from the Free Period or taking part in the Draw. The promotion is void where prohibited by law.
8. Governing law
These rules are governed by the laws applicable in the province of Quebec. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Quebec. They are written in French; the English version is provided for ease of reading and the French version governs.
