1. What qcalculatrice.com is, and is not

qcalculatrice.com is a free tool that calculates an indicative cost range for residential renovation projects in Quebec, from the answers you provide and, if you wish, a measurement of your building by aerial imagery.

It is not a firm price, a quote in the sense of construction practice, nor a contractual commitment from a contractor. Only an on-site visit by a contractor can establish a firm price. We say it everywhere on the site, and we repeat it here: trust the figure to decide on a budget, not to sign a contract.

2. Free of charge

Use of the calculator is entirely free for homeowners, including creating an account and sending a request to contractors. It is the contractors who pay to receive the requests you choose to send them.

3. Your account

• You must be 18 or older to create an account. The calculator itself can be used without an account.
• You must provide accurate information to create an account.
• You are responsible for access to your account: password, single-use sign-in link sent to your email, or Google account. Do not share these.
• You may delete your account at any time, from the My Profile page of your portal, or by writing to info@qcalculatrice.com.

4. Accuracy of the estimate

The estimate depends on the quality of the answers provided and, when an address is given, on the quality of the aerial imagery available for your area. Some building conditions (condition of the deck under shingles, hidden obstacles) can only be known after a visit. The range shown reflects this uncertainty; it does not constitute a guarantee of final price.

5. Sending your request to contractors

• Your request is not sent to any contractor until you decide it yourself, from your account.
• A maximum of three contractors, active in your area for this type of work, can receive your request.
• Sending a request commits you to nothing: you are not required to accept an offer from a contractor who contacts you.
• Any work contract is concluded between you and the contractor. qcalculatrice.com is not a party to that contract and is not responsible for its performance, quality or final price.

6. Intellectual property

The site's content, the calculation engine and its interface belong to 9423-8151 Québec inc.. You may use the site for your personal use; you may not extract, reproduce or reuse it for commercial purposes without authorization.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, 9423-8151 Québec inc. cannot be held responsible for financial decisions made from an estimate, nor for the consequences of a contractual relationship between you and a contractor. Nothing in these terms limits the rights granted to you by Quebec's consumer protection legislation, to the extent that it applies.

8. Changes to the service and the terms

We may evolve the calculator (new trades, new measurement sources) and these terms. Significant changes will be announced on the site.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the province of Quebec. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Quebec.
