About

A renovation calculator made in Quebec, for local homes.

qcalculatrice.com gives homeowners a detailed estimate of their work before calling a contractor, and gives contractors files that are already priced.

Who is behind the site

qcalculatrice.com was born in the world of building inspection in Quebec. After seeing too many homeowners sign without knowing what their work should cost, its team wanted to give them the number before the call: the same calculation a contractor does at the kitchen table — materials, hours and overhead — but done for their house, in two minutes.

qcalculatrice.com is operated by 9423-8151 Québec inc., a company based in Granby, Quebec. The site is designed and maintained here, with the prices, rates and practices of Quebec residential construction.

How prices are calculated

Each estimate is built item by item: material quantities from the dimensions of your house, material prices surveyed at Quebec retailers, labour hours at construction-agreement rates, and the real costs of a job site (container, travel, setup). Read the methodology and the 2026 reference prices

The result is a serious range, not a firm price: only a contractor who has seen the premises can sign a price. It is written on every estimate, and that is why the site then offers to get you some.

How the site is paid for

The calculator is free for homeowners, with no card or subscription. Contractors are the ones who pay to open the files you decide to send them, at most 3 per file. We take no commission on contracts and we do not sell your contact details: they are only passed on to the contractors you chose to contact.

What we do not do

We do not carry out work and we are not a party to the contract between you and the contractor. Nor do we guarantee a price: the estimate helps you decide on a budget and judge the quotes you receive.
